Dora Says My Trousseau Will Be Complicated

Dear Readers,

My trousseau will be complicated. I will be the wife of a British lord at the same time I will be the wife of a British army officer. I must have party dresses to suit all occasions in England and dresses to suit all the climates found in the British Empire. As an officer, Edward could be stationed anywhere. But since he has served under Lawrence of Arabia, he will probably remain in the Mid-East sector. That means my wardrobe must be suited to hot climates.

Definitely I will need more than one hat with broad brims. I must also have open shoes. White and light colors will be the preferred shades to reflect the sun. It will certainly be a different steamer trunk I will pack than the one I took on the Lusitania.

Sincerely yours,

Dora Benley
P.S. If you want to read more about my wardrobe, you must read the first volume of my memoirs, King Abdullah's Tomb.
